Description

These goggles heighten the wearer’s awareness and can provide a burst of insight when he is endangered. These goggles hold 1 charge that can be spent as part of an initiative roll to gain a +4 bonus on that roll. The charge replenishes 24 hours after it is spent.

While the goggles hold a charge, the wearer has a +2 circumstance bonus to perception checks.

When the bearer deals HP damage to a creature other than himself using a spell with the electricity descriptor, he also applies 1 stack of the jolted condition (see below) to that creature. Stacks of the jolted condition applied this way cannot exceed the level of the spell used to apply it.

Additionally, whenever the bearer casts or concentrates on a spell with the electricity descriptor, he has a 50% chance to gain 1 stack of the jolted condition.

The bearer gains electricity resistance 0. The electricity resistance from this item is increased by 1 for every stack of jolted the bearer has.

Construction

Once per day on command or on trigger (see below), this jacket allows the wearer to use the magic of the companion transposition spell.

The wearer can spend an hour with his familiar or animal companion to set a condition for activating the companion transposition effect, using it as if it were a contingency effect. The setting is permanent until triggered. Resetting or changing it will take another hour. The effect counts as a contingency effect for the limit of contingency effects a creature can have.

This arrow is weightless. A counterpart exists for crossbow bolts.

Pendant of Heroic Determination

Description

This wondrous item can be worn on the neck or wrist.

This pendant can be activated or deactivated by a standard action. While active, it grants the benefit of Heroic Determination to its bearer. If the effect of Heroic Determination is triggered, the pendant has a 50% chance of being completely destroyed. Otherwise, it gains the broken condition and loses its effects until it is repaired.

A creature can only benefit from a Pendant of Heroic Determination once per day.

Heroic Determination: If an HP damaging effect would reduce your HP to 0 or lower, it would instead only reduce it to 1. HP Damaging effects that deal damage greater than four times your current HP ignore this effect (calculated after reductions and resists). (Effects that kill without reducing HP ignore this effect.)

Sipping Headband

A sipping headband is a head strap with two attached sacs, one on each side. Each sac can indefinitely store a liquid, such as a potion or an elixir. Sacs may be filled or emptied as a standard action.

Each sac has a straw leading to the bearer’s mouth. As a standard action, the bearer can drink from one of the sacs, thereby imbibing the liquid contained in it without needing to free any of his hands.

Special 1: If the bearer has the On the Go feat, he may drink from one of the sacs as a free action as part of a move action to move.

Special 2: If the bearer has the Chug feat, he may drink from both sacs in the same action.

Sprayer Mask

This mask covers the mouth and nose of the wearer, etched with images of serpentine beasts.

When the wearer uses a breath weapon or pseudo-breath weapon (such as those provided by Elixer of Dragon Breath or Elixer of Forceful Exhalation), the mask opens and amplifies that breath. If the weapon is a cone shape, the range is extended by 50%. If the weapon is a line shape, the wearer can change its shape to a cone with 2/3 of the range.

The mask doesn’t affect spells that emulate breath weapons like Dragon’s Breath or Burning Hands, but it does affect breath weapons provided by spells like Monstrous Physique IV, and spells that provide a standard action to use a pseudo-breath weapon like Fire Sneeze.

Stabilizer Pillbugs (Amber Orb or Terrarium Bag)

Description

Sheltered in this specially-made container are up to 8 capsule-shaped insects called “stabilizer pillbugs.” It may be worn on one’s person.

The pillbugs can be drawn from the container as an additional material component for a single target transmutation spell with a range of touch and a duration of 1 min./level. When used as such, the pillbug has a chance of extending the spell’s duration to 10 min./level for the target of the spell.

The success chance is 100% for spell tier 3 and below, 50% for spell tiers 4-6, and 25% for spell tier 7 and above. The pillbug is fed to the target as part of the casting and must swallow to gain the extension. The target can easily choose to reject the pillbug (no action). The caster can also change the flavor of the pillbug as part of the casting (to no mechanical effect).

A creature can benefit from a stabilizer pillbug’s effects only twice per day. (Failed extensions don’t count against this limit). The pillbug’s effect stack multiplicatively with Extend Spell metamagic.

Amber Orb: The amber orb version of this container holds the pillbugs in suspended animation, keeping them safe. A full orb starts with 8 pillbugs.

Terrarium Bag: This extradimensional container allows automatic replenishment of pillbugs. If there were at least 2 pillbugs in the bag the previous night, then some eggs within the bag are properly nursed, hatching in the morning. If so, the contained population rises by 50% but never exceeds 6. A bag will not automatically recover any pillbugs if only 1 or fewer remain.

The pillbugs cannot survive outside proper storage for more than 1d4 minutes. Pillbugs may be transferred from one storage item to another.

Ring of Elemental Tribute

Description

Thrice per day, this ring allows the bearer to cast Communal Protection From Energy, using her HD as caster level. When doing so, she sacrifices an amount of non-temporary hitpoints up to 20. For each affected creature, the maximum amount of damage absorbed by the spell is equal to 2 times the sacrificed hitpoints.

The ring can be activated as an immediate action. However, when used in this way, the ring always takes the maximum hitpoints as tribute.
