Description
The origins and purpose of this spell are poorly understood. Some believe it to be an incomplete implementation of magical flight. Some consider it to be product of an arcane Wizard’s whimsical exploration. Others think it a riddle left by the Walking Man.
Of particular note is the 8 vectors and 7 movements of this spell. It is hypothesized that 7 is not the true limit; and rewriting the spell to be able to use all 8 vectors is the key to some arcane revelation. Others believe it is impossible to rewrite this spell as so. And the final vector, the final step of a cyclical journey, is left out intentially.
While under the effects of this spell, you levitate. Upon casting this spell, mark a flat plane (usually one parallel to the ground). Divide this plane using 8 vectors, each 45 degrees away from each other. For the duration of this spell, you may spend a swift, move, or standard action to levitate exactly 15 feet in the direction of one of these vectors. Each vector can only be used once per casting of this spell. And once seven have been used, the spell ends.
This spell’s levitation prevents you from falling, trigger certain traps, and moving through your land speed. However, you may suppress the levitation for 1 round as a free action at the start of your turn.
