Thread Weaving Specializations

Δ Thread Weaving

Extracted and stitched threads are no longer permanent. Duration depends on effect. By default, the threads last until spells are regained.
All thread weaving powers require a resource.
No more concentration requirements.
Stitching on a willing creatures is a swift or move action, plues it provokes.

The most fundamental tool in a thread maiden’s arsenal is the ability to tear metaphysical threads from reality and weave them into new subjects to alter their traits.

Holding Spools: At 1st level, a thread maiden gains access to an array of metaphysical “spools” that allow her to temporarily hold threads from her thread extraction ability. A thread maiden has access to a number of spools equal to 1 + 1/3 her thread maiden level + her Wisdom modifier spools. Each spool can only be committed to storing one thread a day, even if the thread requires multiple spools to store. Like the threads, the spools are an intangible resource and cannot be acted upon by creatures without knight sight or true sight. Threads on her spool can be released as a free action. Spools automatically release any held threads whenever the thread maiden regains her spells, and then the spools are uncommitted.

Release: Released threads instantaneously return to where they belong, taking their corresponding qualities with them and restoring any taken qualities the owner lost as a result of extraction, if any. Some threads are unstable when taken and are automatically released before the usual time (when the thread maiden regains her spell slots).

Thread Extraction: As a standard action requiring a touch attack, a thread maiden can extract quality from a target. Extraction is often harmless, but there are harmful ones. Directly harmful extractions allow a save to oppose it. If the thread maiden is successful, the extracted quality takes the form of a metaphysical thread. Extracted threads must be immediately placed onto her spools (part of the extraction action) or be automatically released. If the attack misses, the thread maiden may try again without penalty. But if she lands an attack and the extraction fails (usually through the opposed save), the spools committed to extracting the thread can no longer be used that day.

Some more complex qualities may become a thread requiring more than one spool. A thread maiden can only attempt thread extraction if she has enough free spools to place them in. If the number of spools required to hold a thread is not otherwise mentioned, it only requires one. The threads are an intangible resource and cannot be seen, destroyed, stolen, or interacted with by creatures without knight sight or true sight.

Thread Stitching: As a standard action requiring a touch attack, a thread maiden can bestow a quality upon a target by stitching a thread currently on her spool. This action provokes. She can use a swift or move action if her target is willing. Failure means the quality is not bestowed, but thread remains in her spools, and the thread maiden may try again later. See specialization ability for details. Any stitched threads are automatically released when a thread maiden regains her daily allocation of spells. Using thread extraction on a thread stitched onto a creature releases it.

If a thread rewrites an already changed attribute, the newest line takes precedence, though the old thread remains in the target.

Space

Basically nerfed because of ranged limits on everything and spool costs. However, overall usability in combat is buffed due to the buffs to thread removal and stitching action economy.
Swift actions are now swift or move actions.

Thread maidens who specialize in the fabric of space can twist the threads of the world, changing locations in impossible ways.

Space Weave Threads: Summoning cord, calling cord, and shuffling space threads are space weave threads. These threads cannot trigger their stitched effect if moved farther than close range from their source. Space weave threads require a minimum of 2 spools to hold. However, the space specialist can commit 4 spools during their extraction to increase the range it can be triggered to medium range. She can commit 6 spools to increase the trigger range to long range, and she can commit 10 spools for a thread powerful enough to be triggered at any range within the same plane.

Summoning Cord (Su)

Still extremely powerful for 1st level, imo. Since

At 1st level, the thread maiden can remove a vital thread from an object or creature, allowing her to summon it to herself. As a swift or move action, she may teleport the subject to her hand (if an object) or to an adjacent space (if a creature). Stitching this thread into another creature gives them the ability to do this. Regardless of who uses the ability, it releases the thread. Unwilling creatures and magical objects receive a will save to negate extraction. Unwilling creatures automatically deny stitching. Only one summoning cord can be stitched into a creature at a time.

Weight limit is 100 + 25 per level. An orc/dwarf in half plate is 200 lbs. This means you need to be at least level for to summon one.

The ability has a weight limit of 100 lbs. The weight limit increases by 25 per level. The ability has a volume limit of 5 foot cube at 1st level, 10 foot cube at 5th level, 15 foot cube at 10th level, 20 foot cube at 15th level and 30 foot cube at 20th level.

Calling Cord (Su)

At 5th level, the thread maiden can extract one of her own threads as a calling cord. She can stitch a calling cord into a creature, object, or location she can see within the space weave thread’s range. This requires a touch attack, and unwilling creatures receive a Will save to negate this. As a swift or move action, the thread maiden may teleport to a space adjacent to that target, so long as it is still within the space weave thread’s trigger range. Using this ability releases the thread. A thread maiden can only have one of her calling cords stitched into a target at a time. She may release a stitched calling cord as a free action.

Shuffling Spaces (Su)

Renamed. Now 2-way. Range depends on spools spent during extraction.
No longer shunts for no reason on extraction.

At 10th level, the thread maiden can pluck the space weave thread from a 10-foot cube of space. If she stitches this thread in another open 10-foot cube of space, pairing them. When a creature fully enters either space, the stitching is triggered, and creatures contained within both spaces swap places. Creatures partially entering either space prevent this effect. Swapped creatures can continue their movement if they are swapped while moving.

Plane Stitcher (Su)

Can cross planes with

At 15th level, the thread maiden can stitch across planar boundaries. She can spend 12 spools for space weave threads that can be triggered across planes. The spool requirement of space weave threads set to have a range within planes are reduced by 2 (minimum 1).

IDK what this is supposed to be. If no one likes it, might think of a separate ability instead.
Changed to “60 foot area” to a sphere for now.

In addition, she may rip one planar trait from a 30 foot radius sphere and store it for later use. This thread requires 4 spools to hold. She may stitch this thread into a 30 foot radius sphere to add the planar trait in that plane into the new area. These traits last for a number of rounds equal to 2d10 + her thread maiden level.

Master of Space (Su)

At 20th level, the thread maiden may take all of the planar traits in a 30 foot radius sphere with her plane stitcher ability as a single thread.
